This page serves as a public notice In response to the many calls we get from dissatisfied customers of other company's and educated buyers looking to verify the premise of our artistry.

NOTE: Ambrosia Glassworks is not a provider of Stained Glass Film Overlay. Ambrosia Glassworks is a true art glass company dealing in stained glass, architectural glass, beveled glass and lead caming.

Please be aware of the difference when you research cabinet door glass inserts for your doors. There are three different types of applications available of which we only provide the first two ( 1 & 2 ). Make your own, technique item #3. We are not providers of item #3. See a video.

  • 1) Genuine art glass: consists of multiple hand cut pieces of glass whether it is clear and/or colored ( stained glass ). These glass pieces may also have wonderful textures to them which add to their beauty as they splay light from the many facets of texture which gives the glass life, sparkle and personality. Samples of these glasses are viewable and available online or call our toll free number to arrange samples sent to your home. As a true art glass company, we never " bond anything to any surface " . Every piece of glass is built into an integrated lead came structure which must be soldiered and then glazed for a weather tight and rattle free product. This is an art form developed  before the 12 century.
  • 2) Single sheet glass insert: consists of a single sheet of glass whether it is tempered or not and textured or not. We provide this service. Call our toll free number to investigate your needs for this application of a single piece of glass installed as an insert into your cabinet door.
  • 3) Tempered glass with bonded mylar film: This is the imitation. We do not provide this service. The premise of this application is to attach colored mylar ( window tinting film ) which supposedly represents a stained glass color or textured clear glass appearance to the surface of a single piece of glass. Sometimes the need to incorporate beveled glass to the unit requires the gluing of beveled pieces of glass to the surface of the single sheet of glass then apply the imitation stained glass window tinting film to the rest of the surroundings. The last touch is by using the imitation lead came which is merely a long piece of rounded lead with an adhesive backing on the rear side which is then laid down over the edges of the mylar tint film to represent a lead line. The rear side of this panel will be regular flat clear glass. You can see the back side of the mylar. This application has been in existence since 1981. That's a far cry from the actual art. Tempered glass with bonded mylar film is called stained glass overlay and it is an attempt to fake glass art with the added feature of being the same cost and MORE. There are several companies who specialize in just this technique.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • " Will I be happy with my cabinet door glass inserts every time I walk by them?"
  • " Will I be proud of my new cabinet door inserts when my friends and family see them ?"
  • " Do I want real art glass or false art glass glass ?"
